Ingredients

  • Fresh sardines – 4 Cleaned and gutted
  • Extra virgin olive oil – 2 tablespoons and some for drizzling
  • Lemon – 1 large halved
  • Fresh garlic – 4 cloves minced
  • Fresh parsley – 2 tablespoons chopped
  • Sea Salt – to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper – to taste

Instructions

  • Blossom the flavors first by marinating the sardines. Drizzle them with olive oil, and sprinkle minced garlic, sea salt, and black pepper.
  • Allow the flavors to envelop the sardines by letting them marinate for around 10 minutes.
  • Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  • Ever so gently, place the sardines on the heated grill. Grill each side for around 2-3 minutes until they are beautifully burnished.
  • Return the grilled sardines to the plate, squeeze delightful drops of fresh lemon over them, and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Notes

If you’re allergic to seafood, you may substitute sardines with boneless skinless chicken breasts or Tofu for vegetarians.
For a zesty twist, marinade the sardines with a pinch of cayenne or a dash of tabasco sauce.
